PVC Cable Trunking Machine
Product Overview
The PVC Cable Trunking Extrusion Line produces cable management profiles used in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations. These profiles consist of a base channel with a snap-on lid, providing a neat, protected pathway for electrical cables, data lines, and communication wiring.
The line is built around an SJSZ-51/105 or SJSZ-65/132 conical twin-screw extruder with a specialized snap-fit profile die. The die design creates both the trunking base and lid in a single extrusion, or they can be produced separately depending on the profile complexity and production requirements.
Online punching capability creates cable entry holes, mounting slots, and knockouts along the trunking profile — features that would otherwise require secondary machining. This integrated approach reduces production steps, improves feature alignment, and lowers per-unit manufacturing costs.
Cable trunking is available in sizes from 20x10mm for residential wiring to 100x50mm for industrial cable management. The line quick-change die system accommodates multiple sizes, allowing manufacturers to serve the full range of electrical installation market requirements from a single production platform.
Key Features
Conical twin-screw extruder
Online punching for cable entry holes
Snap-fit profile die design
Vacuum calibration and cooling
Automatic cutting and stacking
Production Process
From raw material to finished product — each step is engineered for quality and efficiency.
Compound Preparation
Rigid PVC formulation with flame retardant additives and moderate filler (25-35 parts CaCO3). Material must meet electrical insulation standards.
Extrusion & Die Forming
The extruder feeds a precision die that creates the trunking cross-section including the snap-fit lid channel and any internal cable separators.
Calibration & Cooling
Vacuum calibration ensures precise dimensions — especially critical for the snap-fit channel that must hold the lid securely while allowing easy removal.
Online Punching
A synchronized punching unit creates cable entry holes, mounting slots, and knockouts at regular intervals along the trunking length.
Haul-off & Cutting
The haul-off unit pulls the profile through cooling and punching stations. A fly-cut saw cuts trunking to standard lengths (2m, 3m).
Stacking & Packaging
Cut profiles are automatically stacked, with lids and bases matched, counted, and packaged for distribution.

Why Choose Wings Plastic
Snap-Fit Die Design
Precision die creates the snap-fit channel with ±0.05mm tolerance, ensuring the lid clicks securely into place while remaining removable for cable access — a critical functional requirement.
Integrated Punching
Online punching eliminates secondary machining for cable entry holes and mounting slots, reducing labor costs and improving feature alignment accuracy.
Flame Retardant Compatible
Line is configured for flame-retardant formulations meeting IEC 60695 and GB/T 2408 standards — essential for electrical installation products.
Multi-Size Capability
Quick-change die system allows production of trunking from 20x10mm to 100x50mm, serving the full range of electrical market requirements from one machine.
Base & Lid Integration
Die can produce both trunking base and lid in a single extrusion or as separate profiles, giving manufacturers flexibility in production planning.
Quality Assurance
Every production line undergoes rigorous quality verification before delivery:
- Snap-fit engagement force tested to ensure lid stays secured during installation
- Flame retardancy verified per UL94 V-0 or equivalent standards
- Electrical insulation resistance tested per IEC 60112
- Dimensional accuracy of internal channel verified for cable compatibility

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, the die can be designed to extrude both the base and lid simultaneously. Alternatively, they can be produced as separate profiles on the same line with different dies.
For residential: 25x16mm, 40x25mm. For commercial: 60x40mm, 80x50mm. For industrial: 100x50mm and larger. We recommend starting with 40x25mm and 60x40mm as they have the broadest market.
Yes, electrical cable trunking must meet flame retardant standards in most markets. We provide formulations achieving UL94 V-0 rating and support certification testing.
Yes, the punching die creates cable entry holes, mounting slots, and knockouts. Patterns can be customized for different market standards and installation practices.
