PVC Skirting Board Machine

PVC Skirting Board Machine

Product Overview

The PVC Skirting Board Extrusion Line produces decorative baseboards used at the junction of walls and floors. PVC skirting boards have largely replaced traditional wooden skirting due to their moisture resistance, termite proof properties, and ability to conceal electrical wiring in integrated cable channels.

This line shares the main extruder platform with our standard profile lines but uses a dedicated skirting profile die. The SJSZ-65/132 conical twin-screw extruder provides ample capacity for skirting production at 5-8 m/min, with profiles ranging from 60mm to 120mm in height and 10-15mm in thickness.

Modern PVC skirting boards often feature integrated cable management channels for hiding TV cables, power cords, and network wires. Our die designs accommodate these features, including snap-on covers that allow easy cable access. The online lamination system applies wood grain or solid color finishes to match any interior design scheme.

The quick-change die system is a key advantage — manufacturers can switch between different skirting profiles (plain, cabled, tall, decorative) in under 2 hours, enabling flexible production scheduling and quick response to custom orders.

Production Process

From raw material to finished product — each step is engineered for quality and efficiency.

1

Compound Preparation

Standard PVC formulation with moderate filler (20-30 parts CaCO3) for cost efficiency. Color pigments added for solid color skirting, or neutral base for lamination.

2

Extrusion

The SJSZ-65/132 conical twin-screw extruder plasticizes the compound at 170-185°C, feeding the profile die with consistent melt quality.

3

Profile Forming

The die creates the skirting cross-section including any cable channels, decorative grooves, and snap-fit features for covers.

4

Calibration & Lamination

Vacuum calibration fixes dimensions while an online lamination station applies wood grain or solid color decorative film.

5

Cooling & Haul-off

The profile passes through additional cooling zones and is pulled by a caterpillar haul-off at controlled speed.

6

Cutting & Packaging

A fly-cut saw cuts skirting to standard lengths (2.7m, 3m, 4m). Panels are bundled and wrapped for shipment.

Why Choose Wings Plastic

★

Quick-Change Die System

Interchangeable die sets allow switching between different skirting profiles in under 2 hours, maximizing production flexibility for custom orders and small batches.

★

Integrated Cable Channel

Die designs accommodate cable management channels with snap-on covers — a high-value feature that commands premium pricing in the skirting market.

★

Online Lamination

Built-in lamination station applies wood grain, metallic, or solid color finishes during extrusion, eliminating offline decoration and improving adhesion.

★

Shared Platform

Uses the same extruder platform as wall panel and ceiling panel lines, enabling manufacturers to diversify product range with minimal additional investment.

★

Proven Formulation

We provide tested formulations for different skirting applications — impact-resistant for high-traffic areas, flexible for curved installations, and rigid for standard use.

Quality Assurance

Every production line undergoes rigorous quality verification before delivery:

  • Profile height and thickness verified with digital calipers at regular intervals
  • Cable channel dimensions tested for compatibility with standard cable sizes
  • Snap-fit cover engagement force tested to ensure secure but removable fit
  • Lamination adhesion tested using cross-hatch method per ASTM D3359

Typical Applications

Floor skirting Wall base molding Decorative trim

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, the SJSZ-65/132 extruder is compatible with wall panel, ceiling panel, and corner bead dies. Many customers start with one extruder and multiple die sets to produce a range of profiles.

Standard heights are 60mm, 80mm, 100mm, and 120mm. The 80mm and 100mm sizes with cable channels are the most popular for residential applications.

The die can produce both the skirting base and the snap-on cover. Alternatively, covers can be produced separately on the same line with a different die.

Yes, with appropriate die changes. Many customers produce skirting, door frames, and architraves from the same extruder to offer complete matching trim packages.
